The road.
People have been walking this road for a thousand years. The first fifteen miles climb the Pyrenees to the abbey at Roncesvalles, famously the hardest day, and then Spain unrolls with the wine country into Logroño, the cathedral cities of Burgos and León, the climb to O Cebreiro in the Galician fog, and at last the square in front of the cathedral in Santiago.
